The Client: The person receiving the service.

The Company: The Powder Chair

The Agreement: This is an agreement between The Powder Chair and the Client, confirmed by email for the service

The Fee/Payment: This is the amount payable by the Client and the Powder Chair for the service in the Agreement

The Event: This is the wedding, baby shower and any occasion for which the service has been agreed.

The Party: persons mentioned in addition to the client requiring services at the Event


Event bookings are secured upon receipt of a deposit of 50% of the total balance for your wedding makeup or party package, this can be made before or after the trial session if required, however if your wedding date is within 1 calendar month the full balance must be paid.

The final balance is to be paid in full by the client 1 calendar month before the event. If the final balance is not paid within the time stated this may result in the wedding date being released.

A deposit and full balance payment 1 calendar month before the event confirms the Agreement and secures the Company’s availability for your event on the agreed date and time.

The deposit will be deducted from your final balance. The Agreement and availability of the Event cannot be confirmed or guaranteed if the deposit has not been paid.

Deposits are non-refundable and full balance payments 1 calendar month before the wedding are non-refundable.


The bridal trial session is paid 1 working day before the session in cash on the day or via Paypal/ bank transfer and is non-refundable. Each trial can last up to 1 hour – 3 hours, we normally advise prospective brides to have your hair trial done on the same day and prior to your make up trial to envision your overall look for your perfect day.

All Bridal Trials are non-refundable.

Trial days will normally be based on weekdays (days or evenings) and Sundays (subject to availability).


Surcharges of £50 shall apply on weddings that fall on a Sunday or a Bank Holiday.


Event bookings are secured upon e-mail confirmation from The Company. This confirms the Agreement and secures the Company’s availability for the Event on the agreed date and time for the agreed Fee.

The full cost of a booking is incurred if a cancellation is received less than 24 hours before the Event.

Cancellations are only deemed valid if received via e-mail.

The Fee is always agreed via e-mail, verbal agreements are not offered as they are not deemed valid by the Company.

The Company reserves the right to cancel special offers and rates at any time, with the exception of where an e-mailed Agreement is already in place with the Client.


An invoice for the balance of the Fee will be sent from the Company to the Client 2 weeks before the date of the Event, unless the Event is in less than 2 weeks’ time in which case it will be sent immediately after the booking has been secured.

Full payment of the balance of the Fee is required 3 weeks before the Event if the Event is less than 3 weeks away full payment is required to secure the booking. The only exception to this is where the Client has agreed with the Company to pay the Fee in cash on the day.

Payment can be accepted by cash, debit/credit card (except for American Express), bank transfer, cheque (or via a secure on-line link that is e-mailed to the Client by the Company.

For deposit payments by cheque and bank transfer, the booking is only confirmed once the cheque or bank transfer has cleared in the Company’s bank account. Cheques can only be accepted for final balance Fee payments if received at least 4 weeks before the Event.


For Ella or any member of Powder Chair additional travel expenses are incurred for every mile outside a 30-mile road distance from the Studio to the venue where the service is to take place at a rate of 45p for every mile, this is based on the return journey.

Distances are calculated using an on-line journey planner and travel expenses will be agreed between the Company and Client as part of the Agreement.

If the job is within the London Underground network the cost of the appropriate daily travel card will be charged.

In circumstances when parking fees apply over £5, the client will be required to cover the charges when makeup services are being conducted, for example hotel parking and meter parking.

If required, alternative methods of transport other than motor vehicles, such as rail or flight will be discussed and agreed with the Client during the booking process.

For all bookings outside of the UK, accommodation charges will be incurred, also to be discussed and agreed with the Client during the booking process.


It is the Client’s responsibility to inform the Company or Team member who is engaged to provide the service of any potential issues such as but not limited to medical conditions, allergies, and/or sensitivities.

Neither the Company nor Team member can be held liable for any condition that arises or loss incurred by the Client if the Client has not informed the Company and/or Team member of any known conditions as stated above, or of any conditions unknown to the Client at the time of the service.

The Company and/or Team member reserve the right to cancel the Agreement if the behaviour of the Client is deemed inappropriate and/or if the Client reports a condition that the Company and/or Team member deem as a risk to the Client’s health and wellbeing.

In these cases any payments that have already been made by the Client for the service are non-refundable.


The Company will always endeavour to honour the Agreement to the best of its ability.

There may be circumstances beyond the control of the Company where a Team member is unwell, delayed or otherwise unavailable, sometimes at short notice. In such a case the Company will inform the Client at its earliest convenience and endeavour to make favourable alternative arrangements if possible.

The Company reserves the right to offer the Client compensation in the event that it is not able to honour the Agreement. This is entirely dependent on the circumstances and will be discussed openly and honestly with the Client.


Payments that have already been made to the Company for a wedding Event that is subsequently cancelled before the Event will be retained.

Cancellations before a non-wedding Event will incur the full Fee for the service.

Cancellations are only valid via e-mail, verbal cancellations are not accepted as they are not deemed valid by the Company.

Cancellations are deemed valid only upon receipt of email and deposits are non-refundable.

The fee is always agreed via email, verbal agreements are not offered and not valid by the Company.

The Company reserves the right to cancel special offers and rates at any time, with the exception of where an e-mailed Agreement is already in place with the Client.


The Powder Chair reserves the right to take photographic or film records of any of our make-up applications, and may use any such photographs for promotional and/or commercial purposes, only with the Client’s express and written consent.


Repeat trials: If a second makeup trial is requested the same fee applies as for the first trial

Additional members of the Powder Chair bookings: Team members will only be present at The Powder Chair bookings at her invitation if there is a time constraint. Later start times for bridal bookings: If the bridal Client decides to change the start time of the wedding day booking to one later than in the Agreement (however the finish time is to remain the same) an assistant to the makeup artist can be booked for an additional £75 each.

Lash application is included in the price for the makeup service, there is no reduction in price for any makeup service if they are declined.

In the unlikely event that your makeup Artist is unable to make your wedding appointment due to a personal emergency, act of god, and severe illness The Powder Chair will try to find you an alternative makeup artist whom The Powder Chair highly recommend.


The Powder Chair is not liable for any suppliers that I recommend. I have public liability cover and am insured.
